Plein Air Montana artist Fred Kingwill will be teaching a two day introductory to intermediate watercolor Plein Air Workshop on July 28th & 29th from 9am – 4pm.
Supplies are not included – please refer to the supply list to come prepared for the workshop. This includes watercolor paper, paints, & brushes. See and download full supply list here.
The class will begin on July 28th at 9am for an indoor introduction at the Bozeman Art Museum & Plein Air portion will begin that afternoon. Class on the 29th will be fully en Plein Air, meeting location and schedule will be shared after sign up. Find more info here.

PAST: Classical Figure Drawing at BAM with Martijn Caspar Swart
With more than five years intensive academic drawing and painting study and more than a decade of professional painting thereafter Martijn has much to offer students at all levels of expertise.
We will begin with a graphite figure drawing class where we will go through all the steps involved in beginning a block-in to the final three dimensional rendering. Starting with demonstrations at each stage and personal critiques throughout your ample time working from the live model. We have a great nude model and will set the pose in advance based on classical composition and make certain that each easel is well positioned.

Sarah Becktel, will present “The Essentials of Art Materials”, a 90-minute hands-on presentation that focuses on art materials and the relationship between paper surfaces and drawing/painting media. The presentation will empower artists with the knowledge necessary to choose the right papers and art materials for their own artistic practice. Attendees will participate in hands-on exercises using a selection of papers and drawing materials. Find out more here.
