Beginning at Bozeman Art Museum, David will begin with an indoor demonstration and introduction then a small break for lunch and an afternoon of painting outdoors. Explore both the basics and advanced skills necessary to complete complicated scenes in watercolor outside.
David Orrin Smith is an award winning Plein Air Watercolorist and portrait artist. He won the Bozeman Art Museum Plein Air MT Purchase Prize in 2024 & has won many awards at Plein Air events across the country. He works at a large scale and is skilled at painting complicated scenes with moving light, people, birds & layered spaces quickly and concisely.
Watercolor paint, brushes, & paper are required: Recommended Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolors, 1 inch flat brush, Arches Watercolor Paper (Threlfall Fine Art Supply at 96 Lara Louise Ln. #16 carries these and more)
