Stephen Korshak on The Korshak Collection
Have you had a chance to see our current exhibit of imaginative illustrations? A collection of over 60 original illustrations, some dating over a century-old, detail a history of culturally significant sci-fi and horror stories. Accumulated by the Korshak family, Stephen Korshak will speak about his lifelong love affair of illustration art and the imaginative.

“In the [collection] process, I learned that fantasy art was one subset of the entire field of illustration. Some illustrators were self-taught, others were classically trained. Some illustrators’ works were iconic and defined a whole generation’s visualization of certain authors’ work and literary characters. I also learned that many scholars in the field of art during the 20th century made a distinction between what they considered fine art versus illustration.“
