Description

July 26, 2022, 6 – 8 p.m. at the Bozeman Art Museum.

Adults only.

In this two hour introduction to clay, students will be instructed and lead through a foundational method of ceramic technique– pinching! As a class, we will work through creating a pinch pot from a ball of clay to a finished product, discussing both the functional and sculptural application this technique can be used for.

Students will be given examples of different methods of deception that can be utilized through both positive and negative mark making, and encouraged to make each of their projects unique to their tastes and interests.

Projects made during this class will be taken to be fired at Elies home studio, and will be available for pickup at BAM a couple weeks after the class date. Exact pickup day TBD.
