Planned Giving

Legacy Gifts

Keep the good work growing by passing on the gift of art to the next generation!

By making a legacy gift to the Bozeman Art Museum, you continue to grow and maintain this important community asset for those to come. Planned gifts can help you with effective tax reduction strategies while ensuring that the museum can generate the resources needed to carry on the programs. By combining charitable giving with your estate and financial planning, you can create a lasting personal legacy. Whether it is a bequest to BAM in your will or utilizing the Montana Endowed Tax Credit- which helps you save money on taxes while helping BAM build our endowment fund, you will be leaving a lasting legacy.

BEQUESTS

Bequests allow us to expand our facility and programs. You can name BAM in your will by specifying an amount, a percentage of your estate or what remains of your estate after providing for your children and other beneficiaries. Please include our organization’s identification number (EIN-80-0784826) in order to ensure that your gift will be exempt from federal estate taxes.

ENDOWMENTS

To help ensure that the Bozeman Art Museum will be able to continue its growth and success in perpetuity, please consider a gift to the BAM endowment.

RETIREMENT ASSETS

  • By designating BAM as the recipient of any benefits in your retirement plan, you can reduce the taxes on those assets. Donors aged 70 1/2 or older may contribute up to $100,000 to charity from their IRAs. Such contributions may also qualify as required minimum distributions.
  • Life insurance: You may wish to make BAM the beneficiary of a policy.
  • Real Estate: The gift of real estate is a unique and meaningful way to support BAM. You can enjoy the satisfaction of making such a gift during your lifetime without affecting your current lifestyle by a special arrangement called a retained life estate. Real estate can also be a valuable asset when used to fund either a charitable remainder trust or a charitable lead trust.
