Art Embodied

In a world saturated with digital filters and curated online personas, what does it truly mean to see one another? This exhibit delves into the multifaceted realm of portraiture and figurative art, inviting viewers to experience the human form through the diverse lenses of artists from the 1800s to current times.

Exhibit open January 5th to April 6th, Tuesday through Saturday 11am-5pm

Stanley from Streetcar named Desire, Steve Huston

Art Embodied is a testament to the transformative power of art. It reminds us that every face, every body, tells a story- a story waiting to be interpreted, reimagined and ultimately, understood. Through the varied styles and techniques employed by these artists, we witness the human form not as a fixed entity, but as a canvas upon which emotions, experiences, and identities are painted, sculpted, and carved.

From the classical bust of the 1800s by Raffael Monti to the three figures by Freeman Butts, keep in mind that each artwork is a portal, inviting you to step into the artist’s shoes. See the world through their eyes, feel the emotions that guided their brushstrokes, and listen to the unspoken dialogues woven into the fabric of their creations. By actively engaging with these diverse perspectives, we challenge our own perception of the world and the people around us. We learn to see beyond the surface, to find beauty in the unexpected, and to recognize the shared humanity that binds us all.
